After leaving Abbey school, Ramsey Simon joined David Smith of St.Ives for three years and qualified as a timber machinist. After qualifying he decided to join the family firm in Somersham in 1989. He had already passed his PCV licence in 1988 so was driving very early on in his career. Simon worked for a time in the office at Dews Coaches, following his 21st birthday Simon undertook his first tour into mainland Europe.
Over the years Simon has gained vast experience of business acumen from both his father and mother, his father David has always been a great source of inspiration with his attention to detail and presentation of the coaches. Whilst Linda has always been keen for Simon to look after the finer details within the office, including customer care and always looking for the next opportunity.
Simon took over as the third Managing Director of Coach Marque Accredited Dews Coaches following in the footsteps of his Grandfather and Father before him when David and Linda retired.
Simon is the proud holder of the Operators Licence for Dews Coaches and holds both International CPC for PCV and HGV.
Simon is a keen classic car enthusiast. He has been a member St Ives Men’s Hockey Club since he was a teenager and has been a member of Somersham Town Band for some 30 years. He is also an active member of the Mid Anglia Coach Operators Association.
